Chungdahm Language Institute (Chungdahm)
Small and trustworthy school.By: Anonymous on 09.12.2011 23:45
When I was there the working hours were pretty short. Tuesday and Thursdays were only just over four hours work. Monday, Wednesday, Friday were longer with seven hours work. Classes don't start until the afternoon so it gives you lots of free time in the morning.
The staff were very friendly and helped make a great work environment. It is a small school so the staff became pretty close.
The teaching schedule is rigid so you don't have to worry about filling empty class time. CDI also provide thorough training for the job so you won't be left confused if it is your first teaching experience.
There were never any problems with late pay and the company is trustworthy.
Communication wasn't always the best and sometimes schedule changes were passed on at the last minute. CDI head office have a bad habit of changing the teaching method after every semester and this was sometimes very frustrating and there were communication issues with these changes.
Just before I left the workload was increased due to these changes. There is a substantial amount of extra work needed done outside teaching hours. Students take tests every class and also there is listening homework that needs to be checked on a daily basis. It is easy to slip behind with this extra work.
Overall they are a good company to work for. However, the demands from head office can sometime negatively influence the whole experience.
